April 2017 Wrap up

April 2017 for me has been the month of travelling (I have been to Serbia, France and Italy) and the month of the Italian book fair Tempo di libri, where I had the opportunity to participate to interesting events with several Italian authors.
My readings this month have been pleasant enough but not exceptional, so I was really glad to end the month with fantastic book by Maggie O'Farrell.

L'ultimo libro - Z. Zivkovich

Set in a bookshop in Belgrade, a mystery with a tiny of fantasy in, very quick to read, quite unusual, pleasant and gripping enough. A nice surprise!

Rating:  6.5 out of 10

The little giant of Aberdeen County - T. Baker

A book about sorrow, differences and malignity but also about love, strength and finding your role in the world.

Rating:  6.5 out of 10

Con un poco di zucchero - E. Carabba
Inizio carino e divertente, poi diventa assolutamente surreale e monotono.
Rating:  5 out of 10

La giostra dei criceti - A. Manzini

Un bel giallo alla Schiavone ma senza Rocco che indaga. Tagliente, polemico, nudo e crudo, amo Manzini!

Rating:  7 out of 10

The end of vandalism - T. Drury
I did not like it at all, first half ok, second part so slow and boring, I could not finish it.
Rating:  Abandoned!

Le addizioni femminili - A. Fezzi
Amori che ritornano, ci mettono in discussione e ci fanno trovare se stessi. Il tutto ambientato nella mia splendida Verona.
Rating:  8 out 10

La sposa scomparsa - R. Teruzzi
Un giallo milanese con investigatrici dilettanti (e un po' pazze) come protagoniste. Piacevole!
Rating:  6.5 out of 10

This must be the place - M. O'Farrell
A novel that covers several years and several characters interlinked in a story about marriage, parenthood and life. Superb writing style, a must read.
Rating:  8.5 out of 10
