Book Review: Living the dream - L. Berry

I received this book through my monthly subscription with The Willough Book Club (which I love btw!) and probably I would have not pick it up otherwise, because I am quite cagey when they say things like "the new Bridget Jones' diary".
But this novel was very pleasant, set in London, two main characters, best friends Emma and Clem and their struggles to find their places in the working/grown up world in their lates 20s.
It is funny, witty, very realistic and it talks about things everybody at 20s or even 30s have to face: following the dream or finding stability?
Perfect summer reading, very pleasant indeed.

The Plot:

Each morning Emma arrives at her desk and types in her password (Fresh_He11). She hates her job.

Emma's best friend, Clementine Twist, arrives home from New York with a broken heart. She moves in with her mum and gets a job in a bar.

As their 30s loom and the freedom and fun of their 20s gives way to the adult pressures, Emma and Clem realise it's time to ramp up their efforts, and think about quitting the day job.

Lauren makes a living in branding and journalism under a variety of guises, including the pseudonym Marie Berry. She lives and works in London. Living the Dream is her first novel.
