The best books I have read in 2017

I love lists, I love reading other people's lists and doing mine.

So I could not refrain from The best of...

Here we go, from the more recent reads to the ones I read at the beginning of the year:

Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine - G. Honeyman
Bitter-sweet, absolutely brilliant novel about a very peculiar and very strong woman who survives a terrible past. Funny, heartbreaking, a gem!

Where'd you go, Bernadette - M. Sample
Brilliant plot and characters, and there is no other fictional character like Bernadette, a legend, funny, tough, completely without filters. Adorable!

The two-family house - L. Cohen Loigman
A family saga set in NY between the 40s and 60s. Adored it, still missing the characters now!

Le tre del mattino - G. Carofiglio
Un altro bellissimo romanzo del mio amato Carofiglio. Mi ha davvero toccato il cuore, un padre ed un figlio che si raccontano.

The Roanoke girls - A. Engel
A shocking read, a twisted love, an utterly original read.

L'arminuta - D. Di Pietrantonio
Un romanzo molto duro, quasi freddo nella scrittura, semplice eppur stupendo. Triste, amaro, bello.

This must be the place - M. O'Farrell
Marriage and parenthood in a masterpiece of writing style with a rich prose. A must read!

Anything is possible - E. Strout
Strout is the master of narration and these stories, separate yet interlinked, are such a great read, simple yet so complicated.

A little life - H. Yanagihara
The novel that this year have completely involved me in a level which is difficult to explain. It made me laugh and cry. Unforgettable.

Shotgun Lovesongs - N. Butler
A brilliant story of friendship in a little American provincial town. Really engaging, loved it.

Le otto montagne - P. Cognetti
Un libro che mi ha strappato il cuore, panorami stupendi, un'amicizia di poche parole, un libro che ho adorato.
